Lower Kings Pow Wow

We were proud to co-host a gathering on December 6, 2009 on the Lower Kings with the goal of raising awareness of the fishery's needs. The needs we focused on is the effort to nurture resident-born fish as well as raise funds specifically for enforcement. Local anglers, local clubs and even some curious members of the public (gasp!). Much of the Lower Kings has special regulations but, like many waters, is subject to poaching and unscrupulous anglers. It also relies heavily on planted fish. We seek to bolster the DFG warden presence through our own funding as well as jump-start some stream-born "almost wild" fish with incubator boxes. There remains all sort of buzz within the fly fishing community and contributions and pledges actually persist after the event. That said, a huge thank you and feel free to holler our way (jimmie(at)sierraflyfisher.com) if you want to talk about it all with us or see the initial release. Finally, if you care to contribute no amount too small nor too large, then see the details at the end of this post. The following photos conveniently came our way from Ming Moua who documented the event well.
